Believe in yourself. You are braver than you think, more talented than you know, and capable of more than you imagine.

Don't give up – you can still get what you want!

IF YOU ACHIEVE THE FOLLOWING EVERY DAY YOU WILL SUCCEED!

There is no way around it. If you want to succeed, if you want to maintain a successful life, a happy, fulfilled life – you must perform these two steps every day.

This will lead to you getting whatever you want in life.

These two steps alone will allow you to earn the money you want to earn, to have whatever you want to have, to become whoever you decide to become.

The first is you must WORK ON YOURSELF every single day.

The second is you must TAKE ACTION WITH ABSOLUTE COMMITMENT to see it through until you get the results your seeking. Take action with a TRUE COMMITMENT FOR MASTERY. Experiment with a variety of goals. Find a way. Never give up.

The only thing that matters is that YOU BECOME BETTER. You do that by WORKING ON YOURSELF. You do that by being CONSISTENT!

So many people are seeking advice on how to get from their "impossible situation" to a place of success.

They want to know their purpose before they can focus on their work or studies. They say they procrastinate all the time and that everyone in their family doubts them.

But the problem with most people is that no matter what goals or plans they have in life, they're ready and waiting to fire off an excuse about WHY THEY CAN'T DO IT. EVERY solution has a problem attached to it. They have excuses so deeply conditioned that no matter what blueprint you give, there's a "BUT" on the end of it! They live their entire life in the "THIS IS WHY I CAN'T" mentality.

One might say, "I'll wire one million dollars into your bank account to them, just send me your details" but, they would probably just come up with an excuse about why they can't give out their bank account information.

Also, almost any amount of money, is it's not invested right won't last forever. While the advice that is readily available ALL OVER THE INTERNET FOR FREE is worth much more than a million dollars - IF YOU APPLY IT!

What these people want is a magic wand, and if they don't get it, they have an EXCUSE ready.

Work On Yourself

Seriously: what is it going to take! What is it going to take to get through to you! What is it going to take for you to change!

WORK ON YOURSELF!

That's all that matters!

You don't know your purpose?

WORK ON YOURSELF!

Then, eventually your purpose will be revealed! As you GROW, you will figure it out. As you TAKE ACTION and try new things you will figure it out! It’s not a life or death situation that you haven't figured out your purpose yet. What is important is that you continually GROW and develop YOURSELF.

You do that through reading and listening to positive and uplifting self-help material EVERY SINGLE DAY. Yes, every day. Get off Social media and grow yourself, your skills, your mindset.

WORK ON YOURSELF! THAT'S All THAT MATTERS! TAKE ACTION! GET IN THE GAME! FIGURE OUT WHAT WORKS AND WHAT DOESN'T!

Everyone doubts you?

WORK ON YOURSELF!

Once YOU GROW, as a person, once you develop your mindset, you'll understand that other people's opinions don't count. Silence them with your RESULTS. You can't focus? Do you procrastinate?

THEN WORK ON YOURSELF!

Once you develop yourself, once you take action, once you try new things, you will then figure out what really matters to you, what you really want to do. What is really important to you.

Once you know that:

Once you know your purpose and your reason WHY YOU MUST you won't have a problem focusing! You won't have a procrastination problem! Because what procrastination really means is: "It's not important enough for me to do anything".

TAKE ACTION.

Try different things. Whatever you love doing, try that. If it works, great, if it doesn't – YOU LEARN. Whatever the case, make your daily self-work A PRIORITY. Daily practice uplifting self-talk using positive affirmations!

WORK ON YOURSELF! THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS!

Because this is all you need to achieve WHATEVER YOU WANT IN LIFE!

If you TRULY, TRULY want to make something of yourself? If you truly want to change, grow, or be a success: YOU MUST COMMIT TO WORK ON YOURSELF EVERY SINGLE DAY!

This is a lifestyle. It's not a gimmick or quick fix. There is no magic wand!

You either want a great life, or you're a TALKER!

You either COMMIT or you'll waste everyone's time – including your own!

STEP UP! STEP UP AND MAKE A COMMITMENT to be one of the few who are obsessed with growing, obsessed with getting better every day.

Look even if you figure out your purpose, or come across some money, or maybe get lucky, it WILL NOT LAST if you're not GROWING.

This world is moving faster than any time in history, if you’re not developing YOU, working on yourself daily you WILL get left behind.

Just try and find an example of a truly successful person who doesn't do self-work daily, you can't. They don't exist. The magic wand does not exist!

You want it: WORK ON IT. By yourself. For yourself. For your FUTURE SELF! It's up to YOU.

No one is going to give you a magic wand. If you want a great life, you'll do the daily work to create one! It's not quick. It's not easy. It's just the truth.

Work on yourself.

If you're not committed to do that EVERY DAY, no one can help you. If you are – no one can stop you.

You will not get better IN ANY AREA of your life if you're not working on that area. WORK and the results will come.

Michael Jordan

'I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.'

Motivational Speech By Michael

“A phenomenal athlete with a unique combination of fundamental soundness, grace, speed, power, artistry, improvisational ability and an unquenchable competitive desire, Jordan single-handedly redefined the NBA superstar.” (NBA)

Michael Jordan, in full Michael Jeffrey Jordan, byname Air Jordan, (born February 17, 1963, Brooklyn, New York, U.S.), American collegiate and professional basketball player, widely considered to be the greatest all-around player in the history of the game. He led the National Basketball Association (NBA) Chicago Bulls to six championships (1991–93, 1996–98). He was voted NBA most valuable player a record five times. Playing most of his career for the Chicago Bulls.

Michael Jordan also became one of the most marketed sportsmen, with lucrative endorsements with Nike, helping to make the Nike Air shoe one of best-known trainers in the world. His career and high profile coincided with a rapid growth in the popularity of NBA basketball, and his personal achievements are considered a major factor in boosting the popularity of basketball.

Michael's Motivational Quotes:

Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.

I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.

My attitude is that if you push me towards something that you think is a weakness, then I will turn that perceived weakness into a strength.

You must expect great things of yourself before you can do them.

Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.

Don’t let them drag you down by rumors just go with what you believe in.

To learn to succeed, you must first learn to fail.

Limits, like fears, are often just an illusion

Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.

The minute you get away from fundamentals – whether it’s proper technique, work ethic or mental preparation – the bottom can fall out of your game, your schoolwork, your job, whatever you’re doing.

If you do the work you get rewarded. There are no shortcuts in life.

Make it happen.

There is no “I” in team but there is in win.

I play to win, whether during practice or a real game.

I realized that if I was going to achieve anything in life I had to be aggressive. I had to get out there and go for it.

If you accept the expectations of others, especially negative ones, then you never will change the outcome.

Sometimes you need to get hit in the head to realize that you’re in a fight.

Sometimes, things may not go your way, but the effort should be there every single night.

Bio:

Michael Jordan was born in Brooklyn, New York. Later his family moved to North Carolina where he grew up. As a sophomore in high school, he struggled to get to play
in basketball games due to his low height. Instead, he concentrated on other sports, such as baseball. But, as a late developer, he grew to 6 foot 3 inches and this helped him to dominate the junior court. After high school Michael attended the University of North Carolina where he was named College Player of the Year by the Sporting News. In 1984, he was picked in the NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls.

In 1984, he was also selected to be in the US Olympic basketball team, where, with the team, he won the gold medal.

The 1984 season saw the emergence of Michael Jordan as a supreme player. Crowds at the Chicago Bulls games increased as people came to see this exciting new talent. Jordan had excellent shooting statistics, but, he also had a distinct and rare ability to excite the crowds with his great dexterity, acrobatic dunks and dives. He seemed to float around the court with effortless ease. Jordan became more than just the best player on the court, he exuded something unique and stylish. He also gained a reputation for being one of the best defensive players in basketball. He managed to combine this athletic excellence with a humility that endeared him to the public even more. He later said that what he achieved was only possible because of former great players who taught and helped him to evolve.

In the late 1980s, Jordan led an increasingly successful Chicago Bulls team. In the 90's h
e led the Chicago Bulls to six championships, winning their first in 1991 for a total of six titles in the space of nine years. Along the way, Jordan broke many of the long-standing NBA records. In 1988-89, he led the league with 32.5 points per game.

In 1992, Jordan again returned to the Olympics. This time as a full professional – Jordan was part of the 'Dream Team'. The US easily won the Olympic gold – with their opponents often admitting they felt honoured to be on the same court as Michael Jordan and the 'dream team'.

However, in 1993, after a series of personal difficulties he temporarily retired from the game.

For a short time, he made a foray into baseball, playing the 1994 season for the Birmingham Barons. But, then in the 1994-95 season, he went back to his primary love – basketball. Despite losing some of his youthful speed, Jordan still had the magic touch and led the Chicago Bulls to the semifinals with some stellar performances. The next year, he led the Chicago Bulls to another title.

Jordan continued to play until past his 40th birthday in the 2002-03 season.

After he finally retired, he had played a total of 1,072 games, with a points per game average of 30.1 and a total of 32,292 points.

After his retirement, Jordan concentrated on management and ownership.

In June 2006, he bought a minority stake in the Charlotte Bobcats and later gained outright ownership, becoming the first former NBA star to become the majority owner of a league franchise.

In June 2010, Jordan was ranked by Forbes Magazine as the 20th-most powerful celebrity in the world with $55 million earned between June 2009 and June 2010. According to the Forbes article, Jordan's Brand had generated $1 billion in sales for Nike.

Elon Musk

'If you go back a few hundred years, what we take for granted today would seem like magic-being able to talk to people over long distances, to transmit images, flying, accessing vast amounts of data like an oracle. These are all things that would have been considered magic a few hundred years ago.'

Motivational Speech By Elon

Elon Musk, (born June 28, 1971, Pretoria, South Africa), is an American entrepreneur who cofounded the electronic-payment firm PayPal and formed SpaceX, maker of launch vehicles and spacecraft. He was also one of the first significant investors in, as well as chief executive officer of, the electric car manufacturer Tesla.

At Tesla, Elon oversees product design, engineering and manufacturing. The Tesla Roadster debuted in 2008, followed by Model S in 2012, the Model X SUV in 2015 and in 2017 the Model 3, a mass-market electric car. Tesla produces a unique set of energy products – Powerwall, Powerpack and Solar Roof – making it the world’s first vertically-integrated sustainable energy company. Tesla’s mission is to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.

Elon Musk is also the CEO and co-founder of SpaceX, Neuralink and The Boring Company. As lead designer at SpaceX, Elon oversees the development of rockets and spacecraft for missions to Earth orbit and ultimately to other planets. The SpaceX Falcon 1 was the first privately developed liquid fuel rocket to reach orbit, in 2008. In 2017, SpaceX made further history by re-flying both a Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft for the first time. By pioneering the development of reusable rockets, SpaceX is pursuing the long-term goal of making humans a multi-planet species.

Elon's Motivational Quotes:

Failure is an option here. If things are not failing, you are not innovating enough.

If something is important enough, even if the odds are against you, you should still do it.

The things that’s worth doing is trying to improve our understanding of the world and gain a better appreciation of the universe and not to worry too much about there being no meaning. And, you know, try and enjoy yourself. Because actually, life’s pretty good. It really is.

You want to be extra rigorous about making the best possible thing you can. Find everything that’s wrong with it and fix it. Seek negative feedback, particularly from friends.

Some people don’t like change, but you need to embrace change as the alternative is disaster.

It’s OK to have your eggs in one basket as long as you control what happens to that basket.

People work better when they know what the goal is and why. It is important that people look forward to coming to work in the morning and enjoy working.

If you get up in the morning and think the future is going to be better, it is a bright day. Otherwise, it’s not.

I always have optimism, but I’m realistic. It was not with the expectation of great success that I started Tesla or SpaceX…. It’s just that I thought they were important enough to do anyway.

People should pursue what they’re passionate about. That will make them happier than pretty much anything else.

If you want to grow a giant redwood, you need to make sure the seeds are OK, nurture the sapling and work out what might potentially stop it from growing all the way along. Anything that breaks it at any point stops that growth.

When Henry Ford made cheap, reliable cars, people said, 'Nah, what's wrong with a horse?' That was a huge bet he made, and it worked.

The first step is to establish that something is possible; then probability will occur.

Persistence is very important. You should not give up unless you are forced to give up.

You want to have a future where you're expecting things to be better, not one where you're expecting things to be worse.

I could either watch it happen or be a part of it.

When something is important enough, you do it even if the odds are not in your favor.

Bio:

As of December 2017, Elon Musk’s net worth is $20.2 billion, according to Forbes. He earned his first billion with the sale of PayPal in 2002; his company SpaceX is valued at more than $20 billion.

Education

Elon Musk was born to a South African father and a Canadian mother. He displayed an early talent for computers and entrepreneurship. At age 12 he created a video game and sold it to a computer magazine. In 1988, after obtaining a Canadian passport, Musk left South Africa because he was unwilling to support apartheid through compulsory military service and because he sought the greater economic opportunities available in the United States.
In 1989, at age 17, Elon moved to Canada to attend Queen’s University. He left in 1992 to study business and physics at the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated with an undergraduate degree in economics and stayed for a second bachelor’s degree in physics.

After leaving Penn, Elon Musk headed to Stanford University in California to pursue a PhD in energy physics. However, his move was timed perfectly with the internet boom, and he dropped out of Stanford after just two days to become a part of it, launching his first company, Zip2 Corporation. An online city guide, Zip2 was soon providing content for the new websites of both The New York Times and the Chicago Tribune. In 1999, a division of Compaq Computer Corporation bought Zip2 for $307 million in cash and $34 million in stock options.

PayPal

In 1999, Musk co-founded X.com, an online financial services/payments company.
It was bought by early PC company Compaq in 1999, who had become a leading supplier of PC systems. The Zip2 deal amounted to $307 million; Musk’s share of the proceeds was a tidy sum of $22 million.

Then Musk scored a net return of over $165 million after his financial services company, X.com, merged with PayPal – which was bought by eBay. Before the sale, Musk owned 11 percent of PayPal stock.

SpaceX

Musk founded his third company, Space Exploration Technologies Corporation, or SpaceX, in 2002 with the intention of building spacecraft for commercial space travel. By 2008, SpaceX was well established, and NASA awarded the company the contract to handle cargo transport for the International Space Station—with plans for astronaut transport in the future—in a move to replace NASA's own space shuttle missions.

Falcon 9 Rockets

On May 22, 2012, Musk and SpaceX made history when the company launched its Falcon 9 rocket into space with an unmanned capsule. The vehicle was sent to the International Space Station with 1,000 pounds of supplies for the astronauts stationed there, marking the first time a private company had sent a spacecraft to the International Space Station. Of the launch, Musk was quoted as saying, "I feel very lucky. ... For us, it's like winning the Super Bowl."

In December 2013, a Falcon 9 successfully carried a satellite to geosynchronous transfer orbit, a distance at which the satellite would lock into an orbital path that matched the Earth's rotation. In February 2015, SpaceX launched another Falcon 9 fitted with the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) satellite, aiming to observe the extreme emissions from the sun that affect power grids and communications systems on Earth.

In March 2017, SpaceX saw the successful test flight and landing of a Falcon 9 rocket made from reusable parts, a development that opened the door for more affordable space travel. A setback came in November 2017, when an explosion occurred during a test of the company's new Block 5 Merlin engine. SpaceX reported that no one was hurt, and that the issue would not hamper its planned rollout of a future generation of Falcon 9 rockets.

The company enjoyed another milestone moment in February 2018 with the successful test launch of the powerful Falcon Heavy rocket. Armed with additional Falcon 9 boosters, the Falcon Heavy was designed to carry immense payloads into orbit and potentially serve as a vessel for deep space missions. For the test launch, the Falcon Heavy was given a payload of Musk's cherry-red Tesla Roadster, equipped with cameras to "provide some epic views" for the vehicle's planned orbit around the sun.

In July, Space X enjoyed the successful landing of a new Block 5 Falcon rocket, which touched down on a drone ship less than 9 minutes after liftoff.

BFR Mission to Mars

In September 2017, Musk presented an updated design plan for his BFR, a 31-engine behemoth topped by a spaceship capable of carrying at least 100 people. He revealed that SpaceX was aiming to launch the first cargo missions to Mars with the vehicle in 2022, as part of his overarching goal of colonizing the Red Planet.

In March 2018, the entrepreneur told an audience at the annual South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, that he hoped to have the BFR ready for short flights early the following year, while delivering a knowing nod at his previous problems with meeting deadlines.

The following month, it was announced that SpaceX would construct a facility at the Port of Los Angeles to build and house the BFR. The port property presented an ideal location for SpaceX, as its mammoth rocket will only be movable by barge or ship when completed.

Internet Satellites

In late March 2018, SpaceX received permission from the U.S. government to launch a fleet of satellites into low orbit for the purpose of providing Internet service. Ideally, the system would make broadband service more accessible for people in rural areas, while also boosting competition in heavily populated markets that are typically dominated by one or two providers.

Tesla Motors

Elon Musk is the co-founder, CEO and product architect at Tesla Motors, a company dedicated to producing affordable, mass-market electric cars as well as battery products and solar roofs. Musk oversees all product development, engineering and design of the company's products.

Five years after its formation, in 2008, the company unveiled the Roadster, a sports car capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, as well traveling nearly 250 miles between charges of its lithium ion battery. With a stake in the company taken by Daimler and a strategic partnership with Toyota, Tesla Motors launched its initial public offering in June 2010, raising $226 million.

Additional successes include the Model S, the company's first electric sedan. Capable of covering 265 miles between charges, the Model S was honored as the 2013 Car of the Year by Motor Trend magazine.

In April 2017, Tesla announced that it surpassed General Motors to become the most valuable U.S. car maker. The news was an obvious boon to Tesla, which was looking to ramp up production and release its Model 3 sedan later that year.

In November, Musk made another splash with the unveiling of the new Tesla Semi and Roadster at the company's design studio. The semi truck, which enters into production in 2019, boasts 500 miles of range as well as a battery and motors built to last 1 million miles. The Roadster, set to follow in 2020, will become the fastest production car ever made with its 0 to 60 time of 1.9 seconds.

After initially aiming to produce 5,000 new Model 3 cars per week by December 2017, Musk pushed that goal back to March 2018, and then to June with the start of the new year. The announced delay didn't surprise industry experts, who were well aware of the company's production problems, though some questioned how long investors would remain patient with the process. It also didn't prevent Musk from garnering a radical new compensation package as CEO, in which he would be paid after reaching milestones of growing valuation based on $50 billion increments.

By April 2018, with Tesla expected to fall short of first-quarter production forecasts, news surfaced that Musk had pushed aside the head of engineering to personally oversee efforts in that division. In a Twitter exchange with a reporter, Musk said it was important to "divide and conquer" to meet production goals and was "back to sleeping at factory."

Tesla then met its goal of producing 5,000 Model 3 cars per week by the end of June, while churning out another 2,000 Model S sedans and Model X SUVs. "We did it!" Musk wrote in an celebratory email to the company. "What an incredible job by an amazing team."

Uproar over Going Private

On August 7, 2018, Musk dropped a bombshell via a tweet: "Am considering taking Tesla private at $420. Funding secured."

The announcement sent Tesla stock spiking, before it closed the day up 11 percent. Meanwhile, the CEO followed up with a letter on the company blog, calling the move to go private "the best path forward." He promised to retain his stake in the company, and added that he would create a special fund to help all current investors remain on board.

However, the announcement also opened the door for legal action against the company and its founder, as the SEC began inquiring about whether Musk had indeed secured the funding as claimed. Additionally, several investors filed lawsuits on the grounds that Musk was looking to manipulate stock prices and ambush short sellers with his tweet.

Musk sought to clarify his position on August 13 with a statement in which he pointed to discussions with the managing director of the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund as the source of his "funding secured" declaration. He later tweeted that he was working on a proposal to take Tesla private with Goldman Sachs and Silver Lake as financial advisers.

On September 29, Musk agreed to step down as chairman of Tesla's board for three years as part of an agreement with the SEC. He also has to pay a $20 million fine.

SolarCity Acquisition

In August 2016, in Musk’s continuing effort to promote and advance sustainable energy and products for a wider consumer base, a $2.6 billion dollar deal was solidified to combine his electric car and solar energy companies. His Tesla Motors Inc. announced an all-stock deal purchase of SolarCity Corp., a company Musk had helped his cousins start in 2006. He is a majority shareholder in each entity.

“Solar and storage are at their best when they're combined. As one company, Tesla (storage) and SolarCity (solar) can create fully integrated residential, commercial and grid-scale products that improve the way that energy is generated, stored and consumed,” read a statement on Tesla’s website about the deal.

Other Inventions & Innovations

Outside of his roles at SpaceX and Tesla, Musk has continually attempted to make his innovative ideas a reality.

Hyperloop

In August 2013, Elon Musk released a concept for a new form of transportation called the "Hyperloop," an invention that would foster commuting between major cities while severely cutting travel time. Ideally resistant to weather and powered by renewable energy, the Hyperloop would propel riders in pods through a network of low-pressure tubes at speeds reaching more than 700 mph. Musk noted that the Hyperloop could take from seven to 10 years to be built and ready for use.

Although he introduced the Hyperloop with claims that it would be safer than a plane or train, with an estimated cost of $6 billion — approximately one-tenth of the cost for the rail system planned by the state of California — Musk's concept has drawn skepticism. Nevertheless, the entrepreneur has sought to encourage the development of this idea. After he announced a competition for teams to submit their designs for a Hyperloop pod prototype, the first Hyperloop Pod Competition was held at the SpaceX facility in January 2017.

AI and Neuralink

Elon Musk has pursued an interest in artificial intelligence, becoming co-chair of the nonprofit OpenAI. The research company launched in late 2015 with the stated mission of advancing digital intelligence to benefit humanity.

In 2017, it was also revealed that Musk was backing a venture called Neuralink, which intends to create devices to be implanted in the human brain and help people merge with software.

Boring Company

In yet another innovation, in January 2017 Elon Musk suddenly decided he was going find a way to reduce traffic by devoting resources to boring and building tunnels. He launched his venture, named "The Boring Company," with a test dig on the SpaceX property in Los Angeles. In late October, Musk posted the first photo of his company's progress to his Instagram page. He said the 500-foot tunnel, which would generally run parallel to Interstate 405, would reach a length of two miles in approximately four months.

Flamethrower

The entrepreneur also reportedly found a market for the Boring Company's flamethrowers; after announcing they were going on sale for $500 apiece in late January 2018, he claimed to have sold 10,000 of them within a day.

High-Speed Train

In late November 2017, after Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel asked for proposals to build and operate a high-speed rail line that would transport passengers from O'Hare Airport to downtown Chicago in 20 minutes or less, Musk tweeted that he was all-in on the competition with his Boring Company. He said that the concept of the Chicago loop would be different from his Hyperloop, its relatively short route not requiring the need for drawing a vacuum to eliminate air friction.

Facts:

Elon Musk was born in South Africa in 1971.

He became famous for starting Tesla Motors and SpaceX but he first made his fortune as a co-founder of PayPal.

Musk provided a large amount of inspiration for the Hollywood character Tony Stark (a.k.a. Iron Man). In fact, parts of Iron Man 2 were actually filmed inside and outside of SpaceX. Musk even has a cameo in the film!

Like Steve Jobs and other famous entrepreneurs, Musk's official annual salary for Tesla Motors is just $1. At age 12, Musk taught himself computer programming and created a video game called Blastar, which he sold for $500.

Elon Musk didn't become an American citizen until 2002, at age 31.

When Elon Musk was 17, he moved from South Africa to Canada. Eventually, he attended college in the U.S. at the University of Pennsylvania.

After graduating, Musk moved to California in order to begin graduate school in physics at Stanford University. He left Stanford after just two days, deciding instead to take advantage of the Internet boom, which was in full swing. After dropping out of grad school, Musk quickly established his first company --Zip2, which provided online newspapers with maps and business directories. He sold the company in 1999 for $307 million.

In 1999, Musk co-founded X.com, an online payment company that eventually became PayPal before being acquired by eBay for $1.5 billion in stock (of which $165 million was given to Musk).

Musk co-founded Tesla Motors, a company that designs and manufacturers electric sports cars. Tesla was able to succeed in the electric car market where other large manufacturers failed. He now serves as CEO and chief product architect at Tesla.

The Tesla Model S was awarded a 5.4-out-of-5 safety rating from the National Highway Safety Administration, the highest rating ever given an automobile.

Musk is one of the major driving forces behind SolarCity, a company founded by his cousins. He is also the largest shareholder of the company.

Elon Musk also founded SpaceX (a.k.a. Space Exploration Technologies), a company that creates and manufactures space launch vehicles, with a particular focus in rocket technology. His aim is to reduce the cost of space flight in hopes of expanding human life beyond Earth.

Musk initially found it impossible to get funding for SpaceX, which investors saw as a pipe dream. Musk channeled all his own money into the company to make SpaceX a reality.

SpaceX has a $1.6 billion contract with NASA to resupply (and eventually ferry people to) the International Space Station, effectively replacing the Space Shuttle.

Musk has reduced the cost of reaching the International Space Station by 90%, bringing it down from $1 billion per mission to just $60 million.

Musk aspires for his Falcon rocket to someday make space tourism and the colonization of Mars a realistic goal for mankind.

The Falcon rocket gets its name from Star Wars' Millennium Falcon.

SpaceX is the first commercial company ever to successfully recover a spacecraft from Earth's orbit, and its Dragon spacecraft is the first commercial vehicle to attach to the International Space Station.

Despite his enormous recent success, both his flagship companies (SpaceX and Tesla Motors) came alarmingly close to failing. Tesla'a first electric car, the Roadster, faced an ongoing string of production problems, and SpaceX had three launch failures before its fourth and final effort was a success.

Elon Musk established the Musk Foundation, which is a group committed to space exploration and discovering clean energy sources. The Foundation runs the Musk Mars Desert Observatory telescope in Utah.

The Musk Foundation also runs a simulated Mars environment that allows visitors to experience what life on Mars might be like (complete with waste-burning toilets).

Musk has been referred to as a "thrillionaire," a new class of high-tech entrepreneurs looking to use their wealth to make science-fiction dreams into a modern reality.

Musk is a firm supporter of fighting global warming and working toward sustainable energy use -- he cites it as his primary incentive for founding Tesla Motors and SolarCity.

Elon Musk has signed the Giving Pledge, in which pledges promise to donate the majority of their wealth to philanthropic efforts. The Giving Pledge has also been signed by Bill Gates, Sir Richard Branson, Warren Buffett, and Mark Zuckerberg, among others.

Elon Musk owns Wet Nellie, a custom-built Lotus Esprit submarine car from the James Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me.

Musk was named one of the 75 most influential people of the 21st century by Esquire magazine.

In 2013, Musk was named Fortune's "Businessperson of the Year" for SpaceX, SolarCity, and Tesla Motors.

On January 25, 2015, Elon Musk made a guest appearance on The Simpsons episode titled "The Musk Who Fell to Earth," playing himself. Musk was a good sport about the episode, which poked fun at many of Musk's ideas.

The Federation Aronautique Internationale, which is the world governing body for aerospace records, presented Musk with the FAI Gold Space Medal in 2010 for designing the first privately developed rocket to reach orbit. It's the organization's highest award (and has also been awarded to Neil Armstrong).

In 2013, Musk introduced his latest endeavor -- the Hyperloop, a new form of transportation that could theoretically send people from San Francisco to Los Angeles in half an hour by way of pressurized tubes. Musk has said if no one else will build it, he will do it himself.

Elon When He Was Young:

He went door-to-door selling candy to rich people

He was bullied

His parents thought he was deaf

He made his own explosives and rockets

He had a penchant for reading

He coded his own video game at 12 and got $500 for it

He was master at Dungeons & Dragons

He tried opening his own video arcade at 16

He moved to North America as a teenager

Dwayne Johnson

'Success isn't always about 'Greatness', it’s about consistency. Consistent, hard work gains success. Greatness will come.'

Motivational Speech By Dwayne

Early Life & Career

Professional wrestler and actor Dwayne "The Rock" Douglas Johnson was born on May 2, 1972, in Hayward, California. The grandson of professional wrestler Peter "High Chief" Fanene Maivia and son of wrestler Rocky Johnson, the young Johnson grew up watching his father perform in the ring. With no plans to follow in his footsteps, Johnson played college football at the University of Miami, showing promise with his size and athleticism until being slowed by injuries.

The Rock

With few prospects in professional football, Johnson turned to wrestling, debuting in the WWF against the Brooklyn Brawler in Texas. After a couple more matches, including a tag team win with Bart Sawyer, the WWF signed him under the name Flex Kavana. A year later, he joined The Nation of Domination, eventually taking over its leadership. Dwayne got his screen name "The Rock" during his professional WWE wrestling career.

He later joined another band of elite wrestlers known as The Corporation and began a notorious feud with Steve Austin. Also known as "The People's Champ," The Rock went on to win a combined 17 WWF/WWE titles over his acclaimed career.

Johnson is considered to be "the biggest superstar" in the wrestling history as affirmed by WWE legend Hulk Hogan.

The movie became a hit which earned him roles in several other films in the course of his showbiz career. He has been casted and given major roles in big hits such as The Game Plan, Faster and portrays the character of Luke Hobbs, the overzealous and adrenaline junkie detective helping, if not going after, the lead characters of the movie franchise, Fast and Furious.

1995. $7 Bucks In My Pocket. I Knew Two Things: I’m Broke As Hell and One Day I Won’t Be.

I Like To Use The Hard Times in The Past, To Motivate Me Today.

I’ll never, ever be full. I’ll always be hungry. Obviously, I’m not talking about food. Growing up, I had nothing for such a long time. Someone told me a long time ago, and I’ve never forgotten it, ’Once you’ve ever been hungry, really, really hungry, then you’ll never, ever be full.

The Road To Success and Greatness Is Always Paved With Consistent Hard Work. Outwork Your Competitors, Be Authentic And Above All Else. Chase Your Greatness.

Bio:

Dwayne Johnson is known by his ring name The Rock. Dwayne Johnson is an actor and wrestler. He was listed in the Guinness World Records as the highest-paid actor in his first starring role. The actor received US $5,5 million for the debut role in the movie The Mummy Returns. Viewers also remember Dwayne Johnson in such popular films as The Mummy Returns, Walking Tall, The Rundown, Doom, Tooth Fairy, The Other Guys, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Hercules and in a number of films of The Fast and The Furious franchise.

Dwayne was born on May 2, 1972, in America. Dwayne Johnson is also an ethnic Polynesian and black Canadian (Nova Scotian), but what is more important The Rock comes from a family of wrestlers. Dwayne's grandfather, father, uncles, cousins earned a living by wrestling. Even his mother and grandmother were involved in wrestling, his mother was the promoter of his father, and his grandmother was the director of the female club. His father constantly moved from place to place, so Dwayne changed many schools. He studied in New Zealand, Hawaii, and graduated in Pennsylvania.

Since an early age, Johnson Jr. attended the training of his father, and at the age of 12, he took a crack at lifting the bar but failed. From that moment his father trained Dwayne.

In high school, Dwayne started playing football and showed such good results that several universities were interested in him. Dwayne enrolled in the Psychology and Criminology Department of the University of Miami and successfully graduated in 1995. He could have continued his career in football, but a back injury sidelined him. Then Johnson got into wrestling.

Dwayne’s debut took place in autumn 1996. He appeared in front of the audience as Rocky Maivia, and by the end of the same year, he had already won the first Championship.

He tried to act fairly without violating the rules. At first, spectators liked it, but they quickly became bothered. During the matches, they often catcalled Johnson, demanded that he left.

Dwayne decided to take a break.

Dwayne returned to the ring as a bad guy, The Rock. This name distinguished the outstanding parameters of the wrestler. The new image and style of the fight brought him popularity. Dwayne called himself the "The People's Champion" as the audience loved and supported him. When his career ended, The Rock had earned 17 World Champion titles.

Dwayne Johnson’s creative biography in the cinema began with a smash hit. Hollywood directors became interested in Johnson in 2000, after the release of his book "The Rock Says." The same year he was invited to act in the movie The Mummy Returns. For this work, the debutant actor received an unprecedented fee of $ 5.5 million, and he was listed in the Guinness World Records. His next role was a lead one. Dwayne Johnson starred in the movie The Scorpion King. In 2011, the shooting of Fast Five with his participation began.  Dwayne Johnson joined the popular franchise
"The Fast And The Furious" at the six release. The role of the agent Hobbs was changed especially for the actor. Vin Diesel played the main role in this film as well as in other movies of the series.

Dwayne Johnson stars not only in action movies he also plays parts in comedies. For example, he starred in the Tooth Fairy and The Game Plan. In 2014, the premiere of Hercules took place with Johnson in the main role. In the spring of the following year, Furious 7 was released with the participation of the actor, and in 2016 the comedy Central Intelligence appeared too. Dwayne Jones played the main role of agent Bob Stone in the action comedy. When the agent was a child, he grew up as a stout boy and was laughed at by his classmates, but later he became a super-spy with impressive muscles. Bob takes an old friend (Kevin Hart) for a partner, the latter works as an accountant and only dreams of adventures, chases, and skirmishes.

In 2016, Dwayne also voiced Maui in the animated film Moana. Maui is an egotistic demigod and the second main character together with the daughter of the chief, Moana. The heroes seek to find common ground and fulfill the main mission: to bring back the heart of the goddess, which was stolen by Maui.

In April 2017, the new film "The Fate of the Furious" of "The Fast and The Furious" franchise was released. The film, as well as the previous installments, are filled with street races, crimes, and chases. Nevertheless, the characters develop throughout the films. Dominic (Vin Diesel) celebrates the honeymoon with his beloved wife, and at the end of the film becomes a father.

Dwayne Johnson also returned to the role of agent Luke Hobbes, who emerged to prominence and is considered the second main hero in The Fate of the Furious. During the preview of the film, Dwayne Johnson also spoke at the possibility of the release of a separate spin-off about Luke Hobbs.

In the summer of 2017, the actor appeared in the lead role in the comedy Baywatch, which is the film version of the popular American television series. Dwayne’s hero is an experienced beach lifeguard who works together with the team on the Pacific coast.

The slow-paced life of the rescuers is disturbed by the frightening news that the beach they are familiar with may soon disappear. The ownership of the nightclub, which is also involved in the local drug business, began to buy places and wants to get the beach into personal property. The rescuers defend their native coast in every possible way.

Arnold Schwarzenegger

'I learned that we are always stronger than we know'

Motivational Speech By Arnold

Arnold Schwarzenegger was born on July 30, 1947, near Graz, Austria. He rose to fame as the world's top bodybuilder, launching a career that would make him a giant Hollywood star and later becoming governor of California.

As a kid, Arnold’s favorite movies were the B-level Hercules movies that Reg Parker, a bodybuilder, starred in. These movies fueled Arnold’s love and obsession with bodybuilding and America.

Arnold would go on to win five Mr. Universe titles and seven Mr. Olympia crowns during his bodybuilding career, which was unprecedented. After his bodybuilding career ended, Arnold set his sights on Hollywood fame.

Arnold's Motivational Quotes:

Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.

What is the point of being on this Earth if you are going to be like everyone else?

Just like in bodybuilding, failure is also a necessary experience for growth in our own lives, for if we’re never tested to our limits, how will we know how strong we really are? How will we ever grow?

If you want to turn a vision into reality, you have to give 100% and never stop believing in your dream.

For me life is continuously being hungry. The meaning of life is not simply to exist, to survive, but to move ahead, to go up, to achieve, to conquer.

Help others and give something back. I guarantee you will discover that while public service improves the lives and the world around you, its greatest reward is the enrichment and new meaning it will bring your own life.

The resistance that you fight physically in the gym and the resistance that you fight in life can only build a strong character.

What we face may look insurmountable. But I learned something from all those years of training and competing. I learned something from all those sets and reps when I didn’t think I could lift another ounce of weight. What I learned is that we are always stronger than we know.

The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent.

Positive thinking can be contagious. Being surrounded by winners helps you develop into a winner.

Failure is not an option. Everyone has to succeed.

You have to remember something: Everybody pities the weak; jealousy you have to earn.

It’s not what you get out of life that counts. Break your mirrors! In our society that is so self-absorbed, begin to look less at yourself and more at each other. you’ll get more satisfaction from having improved your neighborhood, your town, your state, your country, and your fellow human beings than you’ll ever get from your muscles, your figure, your automobile, your house, or your credit rating.

The more knowledge you have, the more you’re free to rely on your instincts.

Be hungry for success, hungry to make your mark, hungry to be seen and to be heard and to have an effect. And as you move up and become successful, make sure also to be hungry for helping others.

Bio:

Born in a small town in Austria in 1947, Arnold Schwarzenegger has since lived many lives. At age 20, the bodybuilder was already at the top of his game, named the youngest ever recipient of the Mr. Universe title. It was the first of five such titles and seven Mr. Olympia titles that would propel him into an international sports icon. With only “$20 in [his] pocket and some sweaty clothes in a gym bag,” Schwarzeneggger then emigrated to America in 1968 and set his sights on the bright lights of Hollywood. He quickly made a name for himself as he nabbed role after role, winning a Golden Globe for New Star of the Year in 1976 and retiring from bodybuilding competitions in 1980 — after his last Mr. Olympia win — to devote himself fully to acting. It was a fateful decision. In 1984, The Terminator exploded in cinemas to make Hollywood history, launching Schwarzenegger to stardom and stamping him forever with the alter ego of the cyborg assassin from the future.

With an almost unpronounceable surname and a thick Austrian accent, who would have ever believed that a brash, quick talking bodybuilder from a small European village would become one of Hollywood's biggest stars, marry into the prestigious Kennedy family, amass a fortune via shrewd investments and one day be the Governor of California!

The amazing story of megastar Arnold Schwarzenegger is a true "rags to riches" tale of a penniless immigrant making it in the land of opportunity, the United States of America. Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger was born July 30, 1947, in the town of Thal, Styria, Austria, to Aurelia Schwarzenegger (born Jadrny) and Gustav Schwarzenegger, the local police chief. From a young age, he took a keen interest in physical fitness and bodybuilding, going on to compete in several minor contests in Europe. However, it was when he emigrated to the United States in 1968 at the tender age of 21 that his star began to rise.

Up until the early 1970s, bodybuilding had been viewed as a rather oddball sport, or even mis-understood by the general public, however two entrepreneurial Canadian brothers Ben Weider and Joe Weider set about broadening the appeal of "pumping iron" and getting the sport respect, and what better poster boy could they have to lead the charge, then the incredible "Austrian Oak", Arnold Schwarzenegger. Over roughly the next decade, beginning in 1970, Schwarzenegger dominated the sport of competitive bodybuilding winning five Mr. Universe titles and seven Mr. Olympia titles and, with it, he made himself a major sports icon, he generated a new international audience for bodybuilding, gym memberships worldwide swelled by the tens of thousands and the Weider sports business empire flourished beyond belief and reached out to all corners of the globe. However, Schwarzenegger's horizons were bigger than just the landscape of bodybuilding and he debuted on screen as "Arnold Strong" in the low budget Hercules in New York (1970), then director Bob Rafelson cast Arnold in Stay Hungry (1976) alongside Jeff Bridges and Sally Field, for which Arnold won a Golden Globe Award for "Best Acting Debut in a Motion Picture". The mesmerizing Pumping Iron (1977) covering the 1975 Mr Olympia contest in South Africa has since gone on to become one of the key sports documentaries of the 20th century, plus Arnold landed other acting roles in the comedy The Villain (1979) opposite Kirk Douglas, and he portrayed Mickey Hargitay in the well- received TV movie The Jayne Mansfield Story (1980).

What Arnold really needed was a super hero / warrior style role in a lavish production that utilized his chiseled physique, and gave him room to show off his growing acting talents and humor. Conan the Barbarian (1982) was just that role. Inspired by the Robert E. Howard short stories of the "Hyborean Age" and directed by director John Milius, and with a largely unknown cast, save Max von Sydow and James Earl Jones, "Conan" was a smash hit worldwide and a sequel titled Conan the Destroyer (1984) quickly followed. If "Conan" was the kick start to Arnold's movie career, then his next role was to put the pedal to the floor and accelerate his star status into overdrive. Director James Cameron had until that time only previously directed one earlier feature film titled Piranha II: The Spawning (1981). However, Cameron had penned a fast paced, science fiction themed film script that called for an actor to play an unstoppable, ruthless predator - The Terminator (1984). Made on a relatively modest budget, the high voltage action / science fiction thriller The Terminator (1984) was incredibly successful worldwide, and began one of the most profitable film franchises in history. The dead pan phrase "I'll be back" quickly became part of popular culture across the globe. Schwarzenegger was in vogue with action movie fans, and the next few years were to see Arnold reap box office gold in roles portraying tough, no-nonsense individuals who used their fists, guns and witty one-liners to get the job done. The Commando (1985), Raw Deal (1986), Predator (1987), The Running Man (1987) and Red Heat (1988) were all box office hits. The tongue-in-cheek comedy Twins (1988) with co-star Danny DeVito was a smash and won Arnold new fans who saw a more comedic side to the muscle-bound actor. The spectacular Total Recall (1990) and "feel good" Kindergarten Cop (1990) were both solid box office performers for Arnold, plus he was about to return to familiar territory with director James Cameron in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991). The second time around for the futuristic robot, the production budget had grown from the initial film's $6.5 million to an $100 million for the sequel, and it clearly showed as the stunning sequel bristled with amazing special effects, bone-crunching chases & stunt sequences, plus state of the art computer-generated imagery. Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) was arguably the zenith of Arnold's film career to date and he was voted "International Star of the Decade" by the National Association of Theatre Owners.

Next Arnold turned back to his friend director James Cameron and found that the chemistry was still there as the "James Bond" style spy thriller True Lies (1994) co-starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Tom Arnold was the surprise hit of 1994! Following the broad audience appeal of True Lies (1994), Schwarzenegger decided to lean towards more family-themed entertainment with Junior (1994) and Jingle All the Way (1996), but he still found time to satisfy his hard-core fan base with Eraser (1996), as the chilling "Mr. Freeze" in Batman & Robin (1997) and battling dark forces in the supernatural action of End of Days (1999). Then came the science fiction / conspiracy tale The 6th Day (2000), and Collateral Damage (2002).

In October of 2003 Schwarzenegger, running as a Republican, was elected Governor of California in a special recall election of then governor Gray Davis. The "Governator," as Schwarzenegger came to be called, held the office until 2011.

Schwarzenegger also contributed cameo roles to The Rundown (2003), Around the World in 80 Days (2004) and The Kid & I (2005). Recently, he starred in The Expendables 2 (2012), The Last Stand (2013), Escape Plan (2013), The Expendables 3 (2014), and Terminator Genisys (2015).

Muhammad Ali

'Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.'

Motivational Speech By Ali

Muhammed Ali is widely regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time. He was the heavyweight champion of the world 3 times and has defeated some of the best boxers in the history of the sport. He was known for his incredible speed, strength, and rhyming poems with boastful predictions. Unlike most boxers who used their managers to talk for them, Ali wanted to be known in the media. Ali used the media to grow his audience and his message. Ali loved to throw off his opponents before even stepping into the ring.

Muhammed Ali first took up boxing at age 12, after another kid stole his bike. His amateur career went extremely well and he dominated the tournaments he entered. He was trained by Chuck Bodak and was known for his exceptional discipline and dedication to the sport. Many of his fights, such as the fights against George Foreman and Joe Frazier, are famous in boxing history. Ali became the heavyweight champion of the world at the young age of 21.

Ali's Motivational Quotes:

Braggin' is when a person says something and can’t do it. I do what I say.

Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul and come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even.

I hated every minute of training, but I said, ‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.

The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses—behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights.

He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.

Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.

A man who has no imagination has no wings.

Silence is golden when you can’t think of a good answer.

It isn’t the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out; it’s the pebble in your shoe.

To be a great champion you must believe you are the best. If not pretend you are.

What you are thinking is what you are becoming.

Age is whatever you think it is. You are as old as you think you are.

It’s the repetition of affirmations that leads to belief. And once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen.

Life is a gamble. You can get hurt, but people die in plane crashes, lose their arms and legs in car accidents; people die every day. Same with fighters: some die, some get hurt, some go on. You just don’t let yourself believe it will happen to you.

Bio:

Muhammad Ali (born Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr. January 17, 1942 – 3 June 2016) was an Olympic and World Champion boxer, who also had a unique personality, based on self-belief and strong religious and political convictions. In 1999, Ali was crowned “Sportsman of the Century” by Sports Illustrated. He won the World Heavyweight Boxing championship three times and won the North American Boxing Federation championship as well as an Olympic gold medal.

"I’m not the greatest; I’m the double greatest. Not only do I knock ’em out, I pick the round. " – Muhammad Ali

Ali was born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1942. He was named after his father, Cassius Marcellus Clay, Sr., (who was named after the 19th-century abolitionist and politician Cassius Clay). Ali would later change his name after joining the Nation of Islam. He subsequently converted to Sunni Islam in 1975.

Early boxing career

Standing at 6'3", Ali had a highly unorthodox style for a heavyweight boxer. Rather than the normal boxing style of carrying the hands high to defend the face, he instead relied on his quick feet and ability to avoid a punch. In Louisville, October 29, 1960, Cassius Clay won his first professional fight. He won a six-round decision over Tunney Hunsaker, who was the police chief of Fayetteville, West Virginia. From 1960 to 1963, the young fighter amassed a record of 19-0, with 15 knockouts. He defeated such boxers as Tony Esperti, Jim Robinson, Donnie Fleeman, Alonzo Johnson, George Logan, Willi Besmanoff, Lamar Clark (who had won his previous 40 bouts by knockout), Doug Jones, and Henry Cooper. Also among Clay's victories included Sonny Banks (who knocked him down during the bout), Alejandro Lavorante, and the aged Archie Moore (a boxing legend who had fought over 200 previous fights, and who had been Clay’s trainer prior to Angelo Dundee).

Ali won a disputed 10 round decision over Doug Jones, who, despite being lighter than Clay, staggered Clay as soon as the fight started with a right hand, and beat Clay to the punch continually during the fight. The fight was named "Fight of the Year" for 1963. Clay's next fight was against Henry Cooper, who knocked Clay down with a left hook near the end of the fourth round. The fight was stopped in the 5th round due to a deep cut on Cooper’s face.

Despite these close calls against Doug Jones and Henry Cooper, he became the top contender for Sonny Liston’s title. In spite of Clay's impressive record, he was not expected to beat the champion. The fight was to be held on February 25, 1964, in Miami, Florida. During the weigh-in before the fight, Ali frequently taunted Liston. Ali dubbed him "the big ugly bear”, and declared that he would “float like a butterfly and sting like a bee," Ali was ready to dance around the ring, as he said, "Your hands can’t hit what your eyes can’t see."

Ali's unique style of boasting, rhyming, and expressing confidence brought him considerable media attention as he moved toward a chance to fight for the world heavyweight boxing championship. When he began to write poems predicting his victories in different fights he became known as "The Louisville Lip." Both the attention and his skill as a fighter paid off. In February 1964 he fought and defeated Sonny Liston for the heavyweight championship of the world.

This was a typical buildup for a fight for Ali, who increasingly enjoyed playing to the crowd and creating a buzz. It was good news for fight promoters, who saw increased interest in any fight involving the bashful Ali.

Vietnam War

In 1964, Ali failed the Armed Forces qualifying test because his writing and spelling skills were inadequate. However, in early 1966, the tests were revised and Ali was reclassified 1A. He refused to serve in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a conscientious objector, because "War is against the teachings of the Holy Koran. I’m not trying to dodge the draft. We are not supposed to take part in no wars unless declared by Allah or The Messenger. We don’t take part in Christian wars or wars of any unbelievers." Ali also famously said, "I ain’t got no quarrel with those Vietcong" and "no Vietcong ever called me nigger."

Ali was essentially banned from fighting in the United States and forced to accept bouts abroad for most of 1966.

From his rematch with Liston in May 1965, to his final defence against Zora Folley in March 1967, he defended his title nine times. Few other heavyweight champions in history have fought so much in such a short period.

Ali was scheduled to fight WBA champion Ernie Terrell in a unification bout in Toronto on March 29, 1966, but Terrell backed out and Ali won a 15-round decision against substitute opponent George Chuvalo. He then went to England and defeated Henry Cooper and Brian London by stoppage on cuts. Ali’s next defence was against German southpaw Karl Mildenberger, the first German to fight for the title since Max Schmeling. In one of the tougher fights of his life, Ali stopped his opponent in round 12.

Ali returned to the United States in November 1966 to fight Cleveland "Big Cat" Williams in the Houston Astrodome. A year and a half before the fight, Williams had been shot in the stomach at point-blank range by a Texas policeman. As a result, Williams went into the fight missing one kidney, 10 feet of his small intestine, and with a shrivelled left leg from nerve damage from the bullet. Ali beat Williams in three rounds.

On February 6, 1967, Ali returned to a Houston boxing ring to fight Terrell in what became one of the uglier fights in boxing. Terrell had angered Ali by calling him Clay, and the champion vowed to punish him for this insult. During the fight, Ali kept shouting at his opponent, "What’s my name, What’s my name." Terrell suffered 15 rounds of brutal punishment, losing 13 of 15 rounds on two judges' scorecards, but Ali did not knock him out. Analysts, including several who spoke to ESPN on the sports channel's "Ali Rap" special, speculated that the fight only continued because Ali chose not to end it, choosing instead to further punish Terrell. After the fight, Tex Maule wrote, "It was a wonderful demonstration of boxing skill and a barbarous display of cruelty."

Ali's actions in refusing military service and aligning himself with the Nation of Islam made him a lightning rod for controversy, turning the outspoken but popular former champion into one of that era’s most recognisable and controversial figures. Appearing at rallies with Nation of Islam leader Elijah Muhammad and declaring his allegiance to him at a time when mainstream America viewed them with suspicion — if not outright hostility — made Ali a target of outrage, and suspicion as well. Ali seemed at times to even provoke such reactions, with viewpoints that wavered from support for civil rights to outright support of separatism.

Near the end of 1967, Ali was stripped of his title by the professional boxing commission and would not be allowed to fight professionally for more than three years. He was also convicted for refusing induction into the army and sentenced to five years in prison. Over the course of those years in exile, Ali fought to appeal his conviction.

"Why should they ask me to put on a uniform and go 10,000 miles from home and drop bombs and bullets on brown people while so-called Negro people in Louisville are treated like dogs?" – Muhammad Ali – explaining why he refused to fight in Vietnam

In 1970, Ali was allowed to fight again, and in late 1971 the Supreme Court reversed his conviction.

Muhammad Ali's comeback

In 1970, Ali was finally able to get a boxing license. With the help of a State Senator, he was granted a license to box in Georgia because it was the only state in America without a boxing commission. In October 1970, he returned to stop Jerry Quarry on a cut after three rounds. Shortly after the Quarry fight, the New York State Supreme Court ruled that Ali was unjustly denied a boxing license. Once again able to fight in New York, he fought Oscar Bonavena at Madison Square Garden in December 1970. After a tough 14 rounds, Ali stopped Bonavena in the 15th, paving the way for a title fight against Joe Frazier.

The Fight of the Century

Ali and Frazier fought each other on March 8, 1971, at Madison Square Garden. The fight, known as "The Fight of the Century", was one of the most eagerly anticipated bouts of all time and remains one of the most famous. It featured two skilled, undefeated fighters, both of whom had reasonable claims to the heavyweight crown. The fight lived up to the hype, and Frazier punctuated his victory by flooring Ali with a hard left hook in the 15th. Frank Sinatra — unable to acquire a ringside seat — took photos of the match for Life Magazine. Legendary boxing announcer Don Dunphy and actor and boxing aficionado Burt Lancaster called the action for the broadcast, which reached millions of people.

Ali fought valiantly. The 2 ½ year exile had cost Ali his legs. He could no longer dance. He lost that night in the Garden, but months later he won his biggest fight, the Supreme Court, reversed his conviction and upheld his conscientious objector claim. Ali was free of the specter of jail, and free to travel to box anywhere in the world.

Several matches followed, including an unexpected loss to ex-Marine, Ken Norton; a win in their next bout; an uninspired win against Joe Frazier.

But these matches were but window dressing for the biggest match of Ali’s career.

Rumble in the Jungle

In 1974, Ali gained a match with champion George Foreman. The fight took place in Zaire (Congo) – Ali wanted the fight to be there to help give an economic boost to this part of Africa.

The pre-match hype was as great as ever.

"Floats like a butterfly, sting like a bee, his hands can’t hit what his eyes can’t see." – Muhammad Ali – before the 1974 fight against George Foreman

This match would give Ali another chance at the world title against Frazer.

Promoter Don King got the government of the African nation of Zaire to guarantee the unheard of sum of 10 million dollars for the fighters. In Kinshasa, Ali derived strength from the African people. They adored him. They yelled, Ali Bomaye! (Ali kill him).

Going into the fight, Ali was 3-1 underdog. His fight doctor, Ferdie Pacheco, had a jet ready to spirit Ali away to a hospital in Spain after the fight. But Ali had other ideas.

Because of the heat, Ali realized he couldn’t dance from Foreman for the whole fight. He invented, "The Rope-A-Dope," a strategy that allowed Foreman to pound on him until Foreman tired. His corner men yelled at him to get off the ropes, but Ali persisted with his strategy for seven rounds and then in the eighth round, when Foreman was spent, Ali came off the ropes and scored a shocking knockout!

After the legendary "Thrilla In Manila," the match against Frazier, who some have deemed, the greatest boxing match ever, Ali fought and lost to young Olympic Champion Leon Spinks. He subsequently regained his title against Spinks, thus becoming, at that time, the only man in heavyweight history to win the crown three times.

Following this win, on July 27, 1979, Ali announced his retirement from boxing. His retirement was short-lived, however; Ali announced his comeback to face Larry Holmes for the WBC belt in an attempt to win the heavyweight championship an unprecedented fourth time. The fight was largely motivated by Ali's need for money. Boxing writer Richie Giachetti said, "Larry didn't want to fight Ali".

It was around this time that Ali started struggling with vocal stutters and trembling hands. The Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) ordered that he undergo a complete physical in Las Vegas before being allowed to fight again. Ali chose instead to check into the Mayo Clinic, who declared him fit to fight. Their opinion was accepted by the NAC on July 31, 1980, paving the way for Ali's return to the ring.

The fight took place on October 2, 1980, in Las Vegas Valley, with Holmes easily dominating Ali. In the eleventh round, Angelo Dundee told the referee to stop the fight, making it the only time that Ali ever lost by stoppage. The Holmes fight is said to have contributed to Ali's Parkinson's syndrome. Despite pleas to definitively retire, Ali fought one last time on December 11, 1981, in Nassau, Bahamas, against Trevor Berbick, losing a ten-round decision.

Ali ended his career 56 wins (37 by knockout) and 5 defeats.

Muhammad Ali in retirement

Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in the early 1980s, following which his motor functions began a slow decline. Although Ali's doctors disagreed during the 1980s and 1990s about whether his symptoms were caused by boxing and whether or not his condition was degenerative, he was ultimately diagnosed with Pugilistic Parkinson’s syndrome caused by head trauma and has affected professional boxers. By late 2005 it was reported that Ali's condition was notably worsening. According to the documentary 'When We Were Kings' when Ali was asked about whether he has any regrets about boxing due to his disability, he responded that if he didn’t box he would still be a painter in Louisville, Kentucky.

Speaking of his own Parkinson's disease, Ali remarks how it has helped him to look at life in a different perspective.

"Maybe my Parkinson's is God’s way of reminding me what is important. It slowed me down and caused me to listen rather than talk. Actually, people pay more attention to me now because I don’t talk as much."

Despite the disability, he remained a beloved and active public figure. Ali rode on a float at the 1988 Tournament of Roses Parade, launching the U.S. Constitution’s 200th birthday commemoration. He also published an oral history, Muhammad Ali: His Life and Times with Thomas Hauser, in 1991. Ali received a Spirit of America Award calling him the most recognised American in the world. In 1996, he had the honour of lighting the flame at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.

In 1999, Ali received a special one-off award from the BBC at its annual BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award ceremony, which was the BBC Sports Personality of the Century Award. His daughter Laila Ali also became a boxer in 1999.

On September 13, 1999, Ali was named "Kentucky Athlete of the Century" by the Kentucky Athletic Hall of Fame in ceremonies at the Galt House East.

He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom at a White House ceremony on November 9, 2005, and the prestigious "Otto Hahn peace medal in Gold" of the United Nations Association of Germany (DGVN) in Berlin for his work with the US civil rights movement and the United Nations (December 17, 2005).

On November 19, 2005 (Ali's 19th wedding anniversary), the $60 million non-profit Muhammad Ali Center opened in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. In addition to displaying his boxing memorabilia, the centre focuses on core themes of peace, social responsibility, respect, and personal growth.

According to the Muhammad Ali Center website in 2012,

"Since he retired from boxing, Ali has devoted himself to humanitarian endeavours around the globe. He is a devout Sunni Muslim, and travels the world over, lending his name and presence to hunger and poverty relief, supporting education efforts of all kinds, promoting adoption and encouraging people to respect and better understand one another. It is estimated that he has helped to provide more than 22 million meals to feed the hungry. Ali travels, on average, more than 200 days per year."

Muhammad Ali died on 3 June 2016, from a respiratory illness, a condition that was complicated by Parkinson’s disease.
